Dear Brother Knights:
Each year the Knights of Columbus circulate an icon of Mary amongst all councils for veneration. We did this last year. We are doing it again this year.
The dates for the icon at our council are: Arrival of Icon - Monday, March 16th from the Freeland Council 7582. Icon to be in our St. Brigid chapel. In Midland - Tuesday, March 17th Transfer to Bay City Council 414 - Wednesday, March 18th
Since our March meeting is on Tuesday, March 17th, I have decided, after consulting with our District Deputy, Deacon Al, Deputy Grand Knight Eric and others, to have our March meeting be an hour of veneration. There will be no formal meeting per se. The hour of veneration is in place of the normal meeting.
The veneration will take place at 6:30 p.m. at the St. Brigid chapel on Tuesday, March 17th. Entry to the chapel is gained off of Ellsworth St on the side of the St. Brigid church building. The hour will be presided over by Deacon Al. There will be specified readings and prayers as provided by the Knights of Columbus. Following this portion of the veneration, Ann Steinhagen of the Legion of Mary will lead us in the rosary. I would anticipate the veneration to be completed by 7:30 p.m.
I hope you will come to this special veneration of Mary under whose banner we Knights of Columbus carry out our works of charity. I will send other reminders, but please put this on your calendar.
